“Amazing Grace Cherry” is something of a misnomer, because it is actually a saladette. This variety came about when Remy Rotella Orlowski, owner of the Sample Seed Shop (http://www.sampleseeds.com/) received and planted seeds for Quedlinburger Frühe Liebe, a producer of small red fruits. What grew instead were very large bicolor beefsteaks, and it was not determined if this was an off-type or an error in seeds. A friend of Remy grew the beefsteak, saved the seeds, and shared them with Remy, who grew them and found large bicolor cherry tomatoes. The image from her 2014 release of this variety shows two fruits fitting into her hand…saladette sized, as mine were.
I am not certain that this variety is stable, although it was released two years ago after three growouts from an unknown generation (the F1 fruits of a cross with the red parent should have been red, so perhaps the large beefsteak was an F2 fruit, if this was indeed a cross).
This is a vigorously-growing plant that sets fruit fairly early. The bicolor saladettes are blushing and pretty, with sweet and tangy flavor. Since I cannot determine if these were listed at F3 generation (or indeed, any generation), I will list this as a developing variety just in case it is not yet completely stable.
NOTE: This is a developing variety. This means that there is a chance that plants and fruit grown from these seeds will be different than what I have shown and described here. I believe that it is stable, but I would rather be cautious in my listings and state the possibilities.
