“Coyote” has a unique fruity “sweet-tart” flavor that I love. It is a crazy producer of tiny pale yellow currant-sized fruits. Coyote is described as growing wild in Mexico. If you want to walk through your garden munching on handfuls of little bursts of fruity flavor, this is a good tomato for you to grow. I added a picture this year to show how the color becomes a deeper, creamy yellow when the fruits are allowed to ripen on the plant in the heat. When ripened on the counter indoors, there maintains a bit of a greenish cast although the flavor appears to be unaffected. NOTE: NOTE: Seeds for currant tomatoes appear to take longer than other types to germinate, so please be patient while waiting for the seedling to appear. Also, the seeds are small in general and it is difficult to sort out the “empty shells” that do not germinate. Because of this, I am including extra seeds in each pack of every currant variety.
