    • “Peperone Friggitello” is a sweet pepper that has quite a few representative appearances on the internet. Wikipedia states that these are called pepperoncini in the US (not the same as what are called “peperoncini” in Italy), and the fruits are shown as rather short and yellow-green. Other Italian vendors show longer tapered fruits that are also yellow-green. And other vendors from all over show this variety in a number of lengths as deep grass-green…some even look exactly like jalapenos. So which phenotype is it? My peppers are in between the yellow-green and the deep grass-green. These are most often used green, and fried whole in olive oil.       Remember that pepper seeds generally take longer to germinate and may require more heat to do so than tomato seeds
