Stormin’ Norman – Early midseason, regular rugose leaf and multiflora! Producing lots of pear shaped brown cherry fruit with a delicious, full, sweet flavor that tells you this is a thoroughbred. Another member of the Keyes family, this one was named to honor the Desert Storm General. The fruits are very similar to Sinister Minister, but Stormin’ Norman is multiflora while Sinister Minister is not. This one is absolutely a must grow. Indeterminate, this plant was finally brought down by the season’s first killing frost. It still had about two dozen green and ripening fruits on it. I grew it in a straw bale. Good keeper time on the counter.
