Big Orange Volunteer (F8) – Early midseason to midseason, regular leaf producing lots of round, Yellow/Orange cherry sized fruit with a delicious, intense flavor that is similar to SunGold. A volunteer plant showed up in the area where I had grown Sungold F1 in a previous year. I grew it out each year since. Last year (2015) it was indistinguishable from the Sungold F1. This year, it also has the taste, aroma, and appearance that has been elusive for so long. I do not claim that this is the perfect replacement for Sungold F1. It is simply my discovery in my garden that is close enough for me. It is offered only for what it truly is – a really tasty golden/yellow/orange cherry tomato that happens to look a whole lot like Sungold F1. Produces all the way to frost.
