“Blaue Kasachstan” is a VERY vigorous plant and set fruit early. Then the Annual Fall Fruitworm Festival occurred and I had no fruits. But this amazing plant actually grew back from a nubbin and made a few more fruits in November.

My seeds came from a friend in France, who was able to provide this information and history: “This is a potato leaf variety. The fruits, weighing more than 200 g but quite large, have a subtle ribbing. The maturity of the delicious fruit is around 75 days. Despite the fact its name, it's not an anthocyan variety but on shoulders you can see some green spots. Novelties from 2007 discovered in Germany, with origins of the ancient Russia (Kasachstan).”

The flesh was meaty, with a salty flavor. It was not sweet, but a nice rich tomato flavor.
