  • “Doe Hill” is a small golden-yellow cheese-type sweet heirloom from the Doe Hill area of Highland County, Virginia. My plant stayed quite short, and grew as well in a pot as it did in the ground, where I have previously grown it. The flesh is very thick and sweet. The plant literally covers itself with repeated fruit sets of these little golden sunshines. I did notice that Doe Hill is sensitive to sudden changes in the weather to dry heat, and reacts with blackening of the germ in the seeds. Otherwise this is an early-to-fruit and easy to grow yummy sweet pepper.
