“Dwarf Golden Heart” was developed from a cross between Anna Banana Russian and Roza Vetrov made by Patrina Nuske Small (Nosey family). It was selected and named by Linda Black. This was an excellent producer, especially for a Dwarf Tomato Project variety, as many of those from the project do not like my climate although they truly do excel when grown in more temperate conditions. Some of the fruits were fat hearts, while others were oblate. The flesh is a clear yellow, while the smooth skin is golden yellow. My tasting notes state that the flesh is soft when fully ripe, and the flavor is quite sweet and more gentle than strongly acid. Smoothly balanced, that’s a more accurate description. If overwatered when ripening, the flavor will be a bit bland, but otherwise it is quite delicious. Dwarf Golden Heart produced and set fruit longer into my hot months than most of my other dwarf varieties.
