“Uluru Ochre” is a 2015 release of the Dwarf Tomato Project, and bears very unusual looking fruit! I grew Uluru Ochre in the spring crop of 2015, and was not pleased with the performance. It did not fruit well in my heat and the flavor was not the best. I grew it three more times since then and liked it much better. The fruit production improved in the cooler temperatures, as did the texture and flavor. One vendor states that the flavor can be variable season to season, and I would have to agree.
The cross between Orange Heirloom and Rosella Purple produced fruits with orange/amber/green toned flesh. At its best, sweet and meaty. The beefsteaks are ruffled and very attractive.
