“Yaki Blue Fawn” is a cross of Filius Blue x Bhut Jolokia by Enrico Lai at MOJO Peppers. It is a developing variety, which means that you may see differences in the appearance of the plants and fruits, as well as the heat of the fruits. There are two main phenotypes reported, a more greenish plant versus a darker plant with very dark stems and violet pods when unripe that ripen to a red/brownish (fawn) color. My seeds are from isolated blooms, and are from the dark plants. I have bowlfuls of the fruits; however, only a few came from isolated blooms. Therefore, I have quite limited stock this year.
I can’t say much about the flavor, as my tongue is so affected by heat that I cannot discern fruitiness etc. when it is on fire.
NOTE: VERY limited stock.
