It was selected and stabilized by Alan Kapuler of CV Peace Seeds. Size of the red cherries has been reported as \u00bd inch. They were almost currant-like for me, right at 0.2 to 0.25 ounces each. Flavor was very sweet, and as seedy as a currant variety. It is reported that Peacevine Cherry does not do well in the heat, so I would recommend southern growers to start it early, as I did, or grow it in the fall. I set my plant out in mid-April and it gave a good harvest before being killed by the June heat, humidity, and insect burden in the western Florida panhandle. I do have a thing for currant tomatoes and currant-like varieties\u2026I think it has to do with the sweet little burst of flavor and the quantity of seeds. There isn\u2019t the \u201cmouthful o\u2019 goo\u201d that you get with a large cherry.
