A member of a popular internet tomato forum, by the forum name of \u201cTormato,\u201d discovered this variety as a natural or bee cross of OSU Blue and Brandywine Sudduth. The cross was noted in 2011, and the fruits were described as \u201csmall\/medium red globe with dark purple to black shoulders.\u201d I do not know the filial generation of my original or saved seeds; however, my plants produced the same phenotype as Tormato\u2019s description. My tasting notes recorded, \u201cExcellent flavor; very glossy; very dark anthocyanin on top.\u201d Red with anthocyanin varieties do not usually taste that good to me, but Blue Suede Shoes was much better than I had expected.
