It was developed from a cross between Budai Torpe and Black from Tula, and selected by Richard Allen, in the F2 generation. Bundaberg Rumball was released in 2014, and named by Patrina Nuske Small, after an Australian sweet treat made with Bundaberg rum. In fact, the treat recipe reminds me of something my friends and I used to make at Christmas, which we simply called “Rum Balls” or “Bourbon Balls,” depending upon what was in the cabinet. I still remember an ongoing competition to see who could use the most rum or bourbon while keeping the treat in a fairly firm, mostly round shape without looking like sad, soggy little plops. These are also pretty good made with rum flavoring, for those who prefer to avoid alcoholic beverages. But I digress. Back to tomatoes. Bundaberg Rumball performed a million times better for me this year than the last time I grew it in 2015. I am finding that getting my seedlings transplanted out just three to four weeks earlier than I used to gives most varieties a decent chance to fruit before the heat miasma we call summer sets in.
Bundaberg Rumball produces cocktail-sized (saladette) luscious chocolate fruits. Production is fairly abundant, and should be even better for those growing in a favorable climate. The flavor is indeed as sweet and rich as a tomato jam I would actually like. Highly recommended!

[15,12,54,107,38

post-5618","product","type-product","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","product_cat-brown","product_cat-bunny-hop-seeds","product_cat-dwarf-tomato-project","product_cat-ellies-wow-varieties","product_cat-round","first","instock","shipping-taxable","purchasable","product-type-simple
["GET
