“Dwarf Audrey’s Love” is a creation of the Dwarf Tomato Project. It was selected out of the “Kiwi” family and named by Robin Bort after her mother. The meaty, elongated plums are 2 to 4 ounces each, with a gentle, sweet, fresh flavor that is not insipid. I have seen Dwarf Audrey’s Love described as a bicolor; however, it is not. It is a chocolate variety, meaning that it has deep red (red plus retained chlorophyll) flesh and a yellow epidermis. There are green stripes as well on this fat chocolate bullet. I did have some cracking this summer, but the rains were very heavy and frankly everything in my garden that was this bullet shape cracked in some degree. The plant height stays quite manageable, at 2 to 3 feet in a “squatty pot” that holds a true 5 gal of soil. I have read that others growing this variety in a more temperate climate have seen it grow to 4 feet tall, but not taller. Dwarf Audrey’s Love set fruit in the heat better than most of the Dwarf Tomato Project varieties I have tried. I would say that altogether this is an easy variety to grow and gives many fruity rewards.
