“Küstengold” (Wildtomate Kirstengold) is a very interesting plant, with silky smooth stems. Normal tomato stems are somewhat rough and bumpy, but these are sleek. It is a heavy producer of elongated golden yellow cherries with sweet tangy flavor and tough skins that do not want to crack. According to resources, Küstengold is a selection of CV Kraeuter-Simon, and the name means ‘Gold Coast’ in German. I have never grown a tomato like this one.
