“Basin Mountain Tommy Toe” is a purple saladette (cocktail) tomato from Sustainable Mountain Agriculture Center, Inc. It is a sister line to the pink “Robe Mountain Tommy Toe,” which was found in a row of Vinson Watts tomatoes in 2008. Basin Mountain Tommy Toe produced 1.5 to 2.25 oz purple round to oblate fruits with green shoulders. The green shoulders are known for an association with improved flavor in tomatoes, and this one did not fail to deliver on that promise. The texture was plump and turgid while the flavor was sweet and acid and rich. I really enjoyed this one and will need to grow more plants next season! NOTE: One packet per order please.
