“Bunny Kisses” is a vigorous and tasty red micro-dwarf that I stabilized from a hybrid. Bunny Kisses now has a number of excellent attributes. First, the flavor is strong, sweet, and acid. The fruits have a special elongated oval shape, the first I have seen in a micro-dwarf (but I have certainly not seen every micro-dwarf in existence). Productivity is crazy good, even in the heat, compared to other micro-dwarf varieties. In a 3 gallon bucket it reached its full sun maximum size potential at about 10-12” tall. It may stretch taller in indoor lighting. Bunny Kisses stalled growth in July-August, but did not die as 90% of my micro-dwarf varieties do. Now in late September the plant has regrown with healthy green bushy leaves and has sent up blooms again. I had two new micro-dwarf varieties that I was particularly impressed with this spring, out of a field of 8 lines I am growing out. Bunny Kisses was one of the two impressive newbies. Although Bunny Kisses appears to be stable, I have been fooled before and so will continue to mark it as a developing variety for another few years.
