“Grandpap’s Rose Wax” is a lovely pink small to medium salad tomato. Reportedly it has come from the Roughwood Seed Collection. I have seen it described as “red flesh with red skin,” but we know that tomato skin comes in clear and yellow, not red. This is a clear-skinned, red fleshed tomato, which makes it officially pink. The skin is not waxy; however, it is very smooth and thus was given the name “Rose Wax.” The flesh is soft, thick, and juicy but not mealy at all, and the flavor is sweet. I really enjoyed this little tomato and will grow it again.
