“Laconia Krater” is a beautiful bicolor off-type from Borghese Vase Roman. I do not know if it is transitioning from yellow to red and therefore appears to be bicolor (but is not)…I have seen this happen before in other varieties. There could have been a bee cross at some point. In a 3 gallon pot set upon a pedestal, the semi-determinate(?) plant produced 1.0 to 1.5 oz juicy, seedy plums. I will share these as gifts since I feel that it is a developing variety at this point. I used “Laconia Krater” as the Borghese Vase is really a krater rather than a vase, and original volute kraters (fat, like these plum tomatoes) were invented in Laconia (Greece), not Rome.
