  • “Rejina” (「レジナ」) is a micro-dwarf variety produced by Sakata Seed Company (https://www.sakataseed.co.jp/product/item/?code=920171). I cannot locate the year it was released; however, Rejina has been used recently in plant research determining such things as the effect of red and blue light versus white light on fruit biomass radiation-use efficiency in dwarf tomatoes as well as research involving the tomato mottle mosaic virus. Rejina produces bright red 0.35 to 0.5 oz cherries on an 8 to 10” plant in full sun. The fruits have a balanced tomatoey flavor. Rejina was not a huge fan of my hot and humid climate, so it took a few trials to get it to grow for me. I would say that Rejina is a great little micro-dwarf variety to grow indoors in the winter, along with what I must assume is a sister variety, Rejina Yellow.
