“Sunviva” is a new-to-me cherry variety with some historical significance. It is the first tomato variety with an open source seed license, according to the vendor from whom I bought my seeds, Brown Envelope Seeds in Ireland. Here is a nice article that explains more about this: https://www.sciencedaily.com/…/2019/01/190109114826.htm…
On my part, this is an indeterminate yellow cherry that is very early…the earliest cherry I have grown that was not a micro-dwarf. The fruit has this odd fragrance. It is something like citrusy and VERY fruity. The flavor is very fruity as well, but not heavily sweet like Fruit Punch. It is like comparing a lightly sweet champagne to a late harvest dessert wine. Fruit size is roughly 1/2 ounce and the fruits are set rather abundantly, starting at the very bottom of the plant. I do love a flavorful cherry that I don’t have to pamper to get an excellent harvest.
