“Vilma” is my favorite selection for red-fruited micro-dwarf tomatoes (other than one variety still in development) in a field of five varieties grown over the past two years. It has tender skin, which is a plus for eating, although one has to be careful with watering to avoid cracking. The fruits are sweeter than the other red micro-dwarf varieties I have tasted, and they are quite juicy. At full ripeness the fruits take on a nearly translucent appearance of glowing red with meaty, soft flesh. Vilma was very easy to grow in my spring tomato season, and I will continue to grow this one, along with Pinocchio Orange, Jochalos, and a few other favorites.
NOTE: New stock is limited until my winter crop is harvested. Until then, all micro-dwarf varieties will be limited to one packet per variety per order. This way everyone has a better chance to try them before current stock is sold out. Thank you!
