Chubby Bunny

“Chubby Bunny” is an original creation by Bunny Hop Seeds. I have been pursuing another anthocyanin micro-dwarf that I had captured once, then lost the purple on the fruits. This was to be called “Bunny Blues.” Meanwhile, a little sister line micro-dwarf developed and is evidently here to stay. Chubby Bunny produces fat yellow cherries that are juicy and boldly flavored. In cool temperatures and full outdoor sun, the little plants showed anthocyanin purple cast to the leaves and stems; however, I have not seen anthocyanin on the fruits for several generations except for the occasional light purple dusting early in the season. I was so fixated on retrieving Bunny Blues that at first I failed to see what a little keeper I had in Chubby Bunny. The plants have a tight structure with small, very rugose leaves. The fruits often hide in the center of the 10″ tall plant. Chubby Bunny bears early and has excellent productivity compared to micros with similar size plants and yellow cherries, such as Yellow Canary and Yellow Dwarf. NOTE: One packet per order please.
