“Prairie Sweet” is a heatless sister line to Prairie Spice. Remember that Prairie Spice came to be in 2015 when my gardening forum friend TimothyT in NC shared F4 seeds from the grow out of the hybrid Krimson Lee with another awesome gardening forum friend in Kansas. While Pat in Kansas grew out Prairie Spice, our friend Cheryl in San Antonio found a segregate without heat, which for awhile was called KLc. Cheryl named it “Prairie Sweet” in the summer of 2023. Prairie Sweet is as deliciously sweet as Prairie Spice, and has the same appearance and size, but does not have the heat. I believe I will be growing this one every year from now on!
