“Choppee” okra, according to the Clemson University site, has been maintained in the Jacobs family since the mid-1800’s. It is named for the Choppee area of South Carolina near Georgetown which was named after Native Americans indigenous to this area. My original seeds came to me from a gentleman who lives just a few miles from me, and he obtained them from Clemson University.
