Amoroso OP is an open-pollinated growout of Amoroso RZ F1. This is a red cocktail truss tomato produced by Rijk Zwaan, a family-owned Dutch international fruit and vegetable breeding company. The company states that it does not produce genetically modified organism vegetables, nor does it use these in the breeding of their vegetables. Amoroso OP fruits are generally 1 oz to 1.6 oz and appear to tolerate heat and humidity well. The flavor is tomatoey with sugar and acid similar to some of the better Campari tomatoes. I find it very good in the kitchen for slicing onto sandwiches, adding to salads, and roasting in halves for sauce, pasta, or soup. Amoroso OP appears to be stable, but because it is a growout I will mark it as a developing variety.
