“Asian Round Purple” eggplant impressed me with its earliness, productivity, and tender texture. I found it more useful than Thai Lavender Frog Eggs because these fruits are 2” to 3” diameter versus Frog Eggs’ 1” to 1.5” diameter. The plant did not grow tall but kept to a bushy 3 feet tall and wide when grown in the ground. I do not know the true height/size potential of the plant however, as my native soil (even with amendments) is sandy, acidic, and poor. Asian Round Purple began bearing before any other variety except for Morden Midget. It continued to fruit throughout the summer, without stalling in August. Productivity was the highest of all eggplant varieties I grew this season, excepting Thai Green Frog Fingers.
