“Blue Room Tomato” (Blaue Zimmertomate) is said to have been developed in Germany. I cannot find any additional information on the origin yet. It is one of these varieties called “micro-dwarf,” yet I have a sneaky feeling that if grown in a 7 gal pot they will be compact balcony sized, maybe more like 16-18” tall and bushy. The leaves are very big for a micro-dwarf. Yet, I know they can be grown as micro-dwarfs in 1 gallon pots as this how I grew them. In the small pot the plants reached 14 to 15” tall and quite bushy. Blue Room Tomato produces big 0.75 oz red cherries with anthocyanin caps so dark they appear black rather than purple. The fruits were later than Purple Boy, and the anthocyanin on the leaves did change quickly to green in the summer heat. The fruits have a very strong tomatoey flavor and good firm texture…this is not a wishy-washy tomato by any means. No limit on packet purchase quantity.
