“Elf Tears, White” is a beautiful little sister to Elf Tears, Pink. It has the same slender teardrop-shaped cherry tomatoes except they are white (yellow flesh with clear skin) rather than pink. The appearance is a little bit similar to Ladyfingers…but the shape is more slender, with a bulbous pear end and an overall smaller fruit. The fruits are not quite as strong in flavor as the pink version, and for this reason I like to enjoy them a little less than fully ripe so that the refreshing tartness can come through. Elf Tears, White works just as well as the pink sister as a hanging basket/shelf plant. Their growth habits seem to be identical, with the same dainty stems and leaves as well as profuse growth. Unlike the pink sister, Elf Tears, White should be stable in fruit color now as it has homozygous recessive genes expressed for flesh color and epidermis color.
