Fairy Tale Fairy, or properly in its native language “Märchenfee,” is one of several varieties in Kleverhof’s Fairy Tale series. These little fruits are quite beautiful, with the shape being described as an amphora and somewhat smaller than Fairy Tale Magic. The color is pale pink dusted with purple anthocyanin, ripening to a deeper pink with purple streaks. The unripe color is a pale almost blue-green jade dusted with purple. Flavor was very good, perhaps not quite as sweet as Fairy Tale Magic…but that may have been because I did my tasting after a solid month of daily thunderstorms/heavy rains. Fairy Tale Fairy was significantly earlier and more prolific in fruit setting than Fairy Tale Magic and produced much better in the heat. My seeds came from the same source as did Fairy Tale Magic, from a wonderful tomato grower and friend in Denmark.
