“Krasny Milo” makes me wonder if this micro-dwarf variety is from Russia (Red Milo) or from Slovakia (Beautiful Milo). It is a bushy little 8 to 10” tall plant that literally festoons itself with button-shaped cherry fruits that are both red and beautiful. I cannot locate a specific history for this variety, however. Productivity is so great that the juicy fruits often are wumply-shaped from being crammed so tightly against the branches and each other. The flavor is balanced and sweet. I will say to be cautious growing Krasny Milo outdoors, as the plants and fruits are so tightly packed that it is difficult to see wormy squirmies until they have eaten their fill. Keep a sharp eye out for insects before they cause significant damage.
