“Lemon Drop” is part of the great Lemon (baccatum) versus Limo (chinense) debate. I chased this around the internet for quite some time before finding that Aji Limo, from Peru, mistakenly called Aji Limon, is a chinense variety. The fruits are lemon yellow and shaped a bit like a top, wider at the upper third of the fruit. Lemon Drop, also called Aji Lemon Drop (PI 315024), is a more slender, pointed at both ends, yellow fruited baccatum. It is very hot, and reportedly known in Peru as ‘Kellu Uchu’. Vendors have managed to mix these two varieties up pretty well, in both the name(s) and the chinense vs. baccatum debate. So far as I know, what I have written here is correct.
