Micro-Tina
$2.70
“Micro-Tina” was released around 1999 by the combined efforts of J.W. Scott, B.K. Harbaugh, and E.A. Baldwin. Micro-Tina was the result of a cross between “Micro-Tom” and “Sugar.” The breeders’ goal was to achieve fruits and plant size similar to Micro-Tom, yet having sweeter fruits. Tests of Micro-Tina fruits did show greater sweetness and less acid than those of Micro-Tom. Micro-Tina is earlier than Micro-Tom but the fruits are similar in size, both being rather small (0.3 oz) ruby-red cherries. Micro-Tina plants are a bit taller than Micro-Tom, but not taller than Yellow Canary or Red Robin. Micro-Tina was not my most productive micro-dwarf variety; however, the flavor was quite good, and it is very suitable for growing indoors under lights. The breeders stated that Micro-Tina is resistant to fusarium wilt race 1 and gray leafspot.
