“Sweet Splash Electra” is a dwarf plant with variegated, rugose, potato leaves. They are beautiful. Additionally, the striped pale yellow (some may call “white,” as the epidermis is clear over yellow flesh) fruits are sweet, tangy, and fresh tasting. The fruits were 1.75 to 3 ounces, with the smaller fruits at the end of the season. The original cross was made by a gardening forum friend of mine, TimothyT in NC. In a joint effort with a great group of growing partners in the forum, years were spent in trialing many segregates with careful selection for the greatest leaf variegation, best flavor, and most disease tolerant. The best of the best was selected and named “Sweet Splash Electra” by growing partner Cheryl in San Antonio. I was highly pleased with the performance, flavor, and beauty of this new dwarf variety. The variegation and fruit production stayed well into the summer heat, which is not often the case for either of these traits in my climate. My plants were 36 to 40” tall, but could run taller in better growing conditions. NOTE: One packet per order please, I want everyone to have a chance to try this variety!
