West Indies Red habanero is a superhot heirloom variety from, yes, the West Indies. It has been described as having, “fruity floral tones,” but I confess that the blazing heat on my tongue blasted away any “floral-ness” that was present.
Its shiny red pods are used in hot sauces, jerk seasoning, and whatever else a daring chef might do with such a firestarter. Enjoy!
