Siling Labuyo is called the “wild chile” of the Philippines. It reminds me very much of another frutescens, the Tabasco; however, while my Tabasco plant always becomes a beast by the end of the season, my Siling Labuyo plant remained dainty. The fruits are smaller and daintier as well. But quite toasty! I did plant it in an unimproved soil area, so the plant may grow larger in more favorable conditions. And yet, Siling Labuyo is a chile that I would want to grow in out of the way places, ready for me to pluck at will, as I would wild berries.
