“Marz Pulcent” is a rather difficult to find variety of hanging basket (or trailing pot) tomato. It has some unique attributes. The first is the size of the blood-red fruits. They are more saladette than cherry. The second is the sheer toughness of the plant itself. My Marz Pulcent plant died in mid-June, as all of my tomato plants do. Well…I thought it died. No more stem or foliage were visible. But one day in August, I happened to look at the hanging basket and saw a new plant loaded with green fruits! These are now ripening in September. That is pretty unheard of in my garden. The fruits are meaty, juicy, tasty, and abundant.
